Daniel Gross is the Co-Founder and CEO of PAX, one of the largest and most successful non-profit gun violence prevention organizations in the nation. In February 1997, Daniel was the youngest Partner in the history of the J. Walter Thompson advertising agency, where he managed development of marketing strategy and advertising for accounts such as Kodak, Warner-Lambert, and Lipton, when his younger brother Matthew was critically wounded in a shooting on the observation deck of the Empire State Building in New York City.
Soon after the tragedy, Daniel resigned his job in advertising to co-found PAX, to apply his passion and expertise to the cause of gun violence prevention. Today, Daniel is widely recognized as one of the most prominent national spokespersons on the gun violence issue and, more importantly, PAX's innovative and highly effective programs have impacted and benefited tens of millions of children and families nationwide, making homes, schools and communities tangibly safer and saving children's lives every day.
Daniel's work has been widely acclaimed and honored by organizations and individuals including the President of the United States, the U.S. Congress, several mayors, city councils and state legislatures, as well as numerous crime and violence prevention, education and youth organizations. Daniel was also awarded the prestigious Next Generation Leadership Fellowship by the Rockefeller Foundation. Daniel received his B.S. degree in psychology and economics with honors from Tulane University in 1989.
Daniel lives in New York City with his wife Maria, 3 year-old daughter Rosie, and newborn son.
