OCTOBER 16-22 IS SAFE SCHOOLS WEEK.
RAISE AWARENESS OF THE IMPORTANCE OF SCHOOL SAFETY BY GETTING YOUR SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY INVOLVED.
Based on the knowledge that 950,000 students take a weapon to school each month and that more must be done to prevent school violence, National Safe Schools Week recognizes the importance of involving students in violence prevention and brings together students teachers and administrators to raise awareness to the importance of speaking up.
To promote Safe Schools Week and the SPEAK UP campaign, PAX is reaching out to grassroots and media partners for support around the week's events. These partners include National Association of School Security and Law Enforcement Officers, National PTA, National Association of Secondary School Principals, National Middle School Association, Students Against Violence Everywhere (SAVE), Student Pledge Against Gun Violence, Kentucky Center for School Safety, and Texas School Safety Center.
