ASK Day 2008
One Simple Question, Thousands of Reasons to ASK

Ideas for Collecting Pledges:

*Set up a booth at your local hospital, library, mall or other place frequented by parents.  Many institutions are very open to having organizations exhibit for a good cause.  Explain ASK to parents who approach your booth and encourage them to sign a pledge.

*Send a copy (or a few copies for larger families) of the pledge and an ASK brochure home to parents in a school, after school, PTA, camp, or religious organization newsletter.  If there is no newsletter, make a special effort to send the information home with students.  Give magnets to the parents who sign the pledge and send it back.

*Ask your pediatrician to set up a pledge display in his/her office.  Visiting parents can sign a pledge and add it to the display.

*Invite other parents in your parenting group, PTA, book club or religious organization to sign the pledge.

*If you have other ideas, email them to ask@paxusa.org and we will post them here for everyone.

Ideas for Displaying Pledges:

You can use the pledge stickers you've collected to make a collage of children's names.

If your goal number of pledges is 100 or less,
you may want to write "ASK" on posterboard or butcher paper.

Then, use the pledge stickers to fill in the letters.
(See the example photos at left.)

If your goal number is higher (over 100), write "ASK" on a number of pieces of posterboard or a larger piece of butcher paper.

Instead filling in the letters, fill in the area around the letters.

Start by outlining them and work outward. This gives you a lot more space for pledge stickers.

In addition, if you run out of room, you can always add more paper to the display to give you more space.
