Celebrate ASK Day 2008 on June 21

Try out these great ideas below or request additional ASK Day materials and suggestions to educate your friends and community, enlist your local media and involve health care and community organizations.

Distribute brochures: English/Spanish brochures are available. Order them today!   BIG ASK: Spell out the letters A-S-K in the most innovative way possible.
Community: Ask local businesses and government to post ASK posters throughout your community.
Reserve a billboard for the month of June by talking to outdoor advertising companies (ASK will supply all creative artwork).
Write a newsletter article or write an Op-Ed or Letter to the Editor in your local paper. Ask if you can include an ASK print ad (ASK will supply all creative artwork).
Recruit local sports teams and request an awareness booth and ask them to play ASK Public Service Announcements during games.
Use the Media: Bring the press to your events or contact media directors in radio, television and print media to donate broadcast time (or print space) to run PSAs or cover ASK Day stories.
Link to ASK on your website or in your email footers.
Share your Story: ASK recognizes the impact real-life stories have on other parents. Please consider dedicating ASK Day to the memory of a loved one or a firearm-related tragedy that occurred in your community.   Talk to your Doctor: Your local healthcare providers interact with families every day, making them a natural partner for ASK. Request that your health care provider/hospital display ASK materials.
